AT&T and Walt Disney World® Resort: Creating a connected guest experience

by William Stovall, VP - Product Marketing AT&T Business

Keeping our customers connected is at the heart of everything we do at AT&T. And we love finding new ways to use connectivity—especially 5G—to help power immersive experiences at places like Walt Disney World® Resort.

As a proud sponsor of Walt Disney World® Resort for over 10 years, we’ve participated in milestones like the Walt Disney World® Resort 50th Anniversary celebration. We collaborated with the resort to help bring to life experiences like the Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories, Powered by AT&T 5GSM. This experience lets guests add their Disney PhotoPass® photo to a beautiful, augmented reality mural superimposed on Cinderella Castle, where Disney guests can view it for years to come.

To power this experience, we built multiple AT&T 5G Zones at the Magic Kingdom® Park Esplanade. Guests with AT&T wireless service can access the Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories experience at faster speeds with fewer delays.

If you’ve ever been to any theme park, large sporting event, or concert, you know what it’s like to be unable to make a call or send a text. But thanks to AT&T 5G Zones, Walt Disney World® Resort guests with AT&T wireless service can help avoid a network traffic jam while trying to make calls and access content.

The low latency rate of AT&T 5G means that guests with AT&T wireless service could send a photo at the Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories with minimal lag time.

AT&T connectivity helps both guests and employees, or “Cast Members,” at Walt Disney World® Resort stay connected.  5G at Walt Disney World® theme parks and Wi-Fi® in the resort hotels helps keep guests connected throughout the Walt Disney World® Resort.  And AT&T helps connect Disney Cast Members across U.S. theme parks and resorts and their office locations.

As we look forward to the next 50 years and beyond, we look forward to continued collaboration and innovation between our companies.
